Paul grew up playing almost every sport he could, but over time settled on perusing football. A solid balance of strength, athletic ability and aptitude allowed him to become an extremely successful Middle Linebacker and play the sport at all levels. Linn’s standout high school career gave him the opportunity to be the first person in his family to attend college and after a dazzling college career with Bloomsburg University, he signed with Torino, an NFL Italy team, where he set a number of records and was named MVP. After returning to the U.S, Linn completed a master’s in Exercise Physiology and took up coaching full time. He is now in his 14th year coaching the same high school team he was a standout for and takes charge of linebackers and the strength and conditioning program. Despite retiring from football and his love for coaching, Linn still had a strong drive to compete and at the age of 35 he felt the need to regain focus and give himself a real reason to train. He started googling strength sports and discovered the World Armwrestling League. “It was the exact thing I had been looking for” he explains “after discovering the WAL, I located a local tournament in Scranton, PA and with no armwrestling training, I turned up, won the novice class, took third in the 199+ Pro Class, and I was hooked! I then later learned that guys like Todd Hutchings had got into the sport at a later age, just like me and it gave me even more hope that I could be successful and compete.” Despite only starting to train for armwrestling in 2015, Linn has turned heads and managed to beat some of the best Middleweights in the sport. When asked about his rapid rise, he explains “my background in football and strength training has set a solid foundation, but it’s the veteran pullers I have worked with who have got me where I am in just three years. The Armwrestling community is like no other and has been great to me.” Paul is a proud father and family man “I am blessed to have a supportive and very successful wife in Juana Linn and an amazing 4-year-old son Lincoln. They are my everything and my inspiration daily” he explains.
